How do you go about picking a wedding date? If you are unable to decide on a wedding date you should consider several things. First, allow plenty of time for planning. If you don't have to rush, you don't have to take a hasty offer. Most people allow 6 months to a year to check out locations and reception halls. STEER CLEAR of Mother's Day! Flowers will be MORE expensive! Holiday weekends are a good option to allow travel time and that extra day may work in your favor. Memorial and Labor Day weekend are good ideas! Having a New Years Eve wedding adds something extra special to your late night reception when countdown begins and the confetti flies... also fireworks will be FREE. Valentines Day is always romantic but there are a lot of weddings on this day so be aware. Halloween is low on the list unless you want guests to come in costume!
Here is another idea: personal holidays! Marry on our parents' or grandparents' anniversary and it will honor them as well as be a good luck charm to you!
Whatever you decide remember the season has different challenges as well! More on that later! All the best and Happy Wedding! Jan Simmons
